The combined 50th SA Surfing Champs and 10th SA Masters Champs is currently being held at Alkantstrand, Richards Bay and is set to end on Sunday 9 August. As predicted the surf remained small today with a strong offshore wind but as in the previous days it was very contestable with competitors putting on an impressive display without complaint.
The country’s best surfers returned to the water this morning to resume competition at the 50th SA Surfing Champs being held at Alkantstrand, Richards Bay.
Day 1 of the Citroën SA Surfing Champs kicked off at 8:30am on Monday morning with the Open Mens Division hitting the small but contestable surf on offer at Alkantstrand Beach, Richards Bay.
Alkantstrand in Richards Bay is bracing itself for the arrival of over 200 surfers and officials who will be participating in the 2015 Citroën SA National Surfing Championships which gets under way with an Opening Function at the Zululand Multisports Club at 7pm on Sunday August 2nd and ends with all eleven finals on Sunday August 9th.
